Apple’s MacBook Air 2020ĭespite the coronavirus pandemic closing stores and putting life on hiatus for many around the world, Apple has revealed a new MacBook Air model that’s sure to give Apple fans something to be excited about while waiting for the worst to pass. Both HPs have LTE and cost the same or less than the MBP, which is why the MBap stayed home this Christmas. The new Macbook Air is faster, but it's the keyboard that will have Apple fans talking. Even the i7 1030 has better battery life, but the screen is not Dragonfly bright. The Dragonfly is only FHD but is usable in sunlight, tablet mode or not.
Even with an i5 instead of an i7, battery life is nothing spectacular if you want the screen to stay comfortably bright, a disappointment really. Compared to my new Dragonfly it feels like a giant antique. Between that and the thick bezels, the size of the MBP exceeds my HP 1030 x360 G3, which is silly. The touchbar adds unwanted girth without delivering any benefit I can identify. The lack of an LTE option and no touchscreen make the MBP feel old and broken. The MBP keyboard is not a problem to my mind, the screen is great, the USB-C charging is so welcome, and the trackpad works wonderfully well.
